Learn How To Make The Most Of Your Family's Next Hotel Stay

Posted on: 5 June 2015

Vacationing can be very expensive, especially when you have a large family. Fortunately, many hotels now realize that families need to be able to get the most bang for their buck when they travel and are making changes to better accommodate larger families. The following guide walks you through a few ways you can make the most of your next stay in a hotel.

Request Additional Sleeping Arrangements

Many people do not realize that hotels now offer cots for their guests to use when they need additional sleeping options in their rooms. There is often extra room throughout a large family suite where cots can easily be set up for children or adults to use during the trip. The large family suites also have fold-out couches that can also serve as an additional sleeping option.

Choose a Room with a Kitchenette

Hotels have rooms that have kitchenettes built into them. The kitchenettes have pots, pans, refrigerators, and stoves that your family can use to create homemade meals in the hotel. By cooking food for your family, rather than going out to eat for every meal, you will be able to save a lot of money on the overall cost of your trip. If you are going to a vacation hotspot such as the beach, you may want to do your grocery shopping before you leave home. The grocery stores in tourist areas often charge more for food and drinks because the owners know tourists will pay the higher prices because there are so many limited options.

Choose a Hotel with Amenities

When you travel, finding things for everyone to do all of the time can be difficult and expensive. Choose to stay in a hotel that has amenities available for your family to enjoy without having to pay any extra money. Some hotels have pools to swim in, bikes to borrow for a long bike ride, or even mini-golf courses for your family to use to play a rousing game of golf when you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing.

Family suites book quickly during tourist season. Be sure to book your hotel room early to ensure that you are able to get a room that fits your family's needs and budget. By booking in advance, you can let the hotel (such as Cascade Inn) know that you will need additional sleeping options in the room so that they can have the cots in the suite when your family arrives for your stay.

Staying Somewhere You Will Love

When I started traveling a lot for work, I realized that it would probably be in my best interest to figure out what to look for in a hotel. After staying at a few bad places, I decided to make a list of amenities and comforts that I had to have. For example, I decided that I loved having an accessible gym to work on my physique while I was in town. Also, I adored having a laundry service, so that I could return home with a vat of clean laundry. After I made this list, I would compare it with the advertised features, so that I would get what I wanted. Read my blog for more traveling advice.
