When you are planning your vacation, one of the things you must decide on is where you will stay. Should you stay at a cottage or a cabin? Should you rent an Airbnb or stay at a hotel? With so many choices, it can be hard to decide what to do. What if you have narrowed it down to either a hotel room or an Airbnb? Which is the better choice? There are many reasons a hotel stay is the best option for many people.
Here are some of the top reasons why staying in a hotel is the best choice rather than renting an Airbnb.
While staying in an Airbnb can provide some safety, most people don't have the same type of security systems and staff on hand in their homes that a hotel does. This means, that while some Airbnb rooms or apartments might have some security, hotels have safety measures in place to keep you and your belongings safe.
Hotels have cameras located all over the building, including hallways and elevators. Doors are electronically locked and the passcode is changed after every guest has vacated the room, ready for the next guest's stay. Many hotels employ security guards who patrol the grounds and can respond to any emergency quickly. Airbnb hosts don't have the same type of resources that a hotel does to keep you safe.
You might be able to find some amenities at an Airbnb rental, such as a pool, but most don't have the same type or number of amenities that a hotel can provide. A hotel can offer indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spas and saunas, hair salons, and fitness centers. They can offer room service at any time of the day or night. Many hotels have restaurants from top local chefs or even celebrity chefs. You often can take advantage of free Wi-Fi and laundry service too.
When you rent an Airbnb, you might have access to Wi-Fi, but some hosts will charge for it. Plus you will need to keep the room or condo clean on your own, while a hotel has housekeeping staff to do it for you so you can enjoy your vacation.
When you stay at a hotel, you will receive in-house service for just about anything you could need. If you have forgotten something at home like a hairdryer or your phone's charger, the hotel staff can often find one and bring it to your room for you. If you have lost your room key or forgotten it and locked yourself out, your hotel staff can get you back into your room safely and easily.
If you want to book a tour through a museum, have a day trip to a local theater, or attend a concert while in town, your concierge can make those arrangments for you. They might also be able to get you discounts and better seats than you could do on your own.Share
